Who this is for: new self-serve workspaces. AppSumo workspaces don't get a Pro trial; see the AppSumo documentation. Support agent: confirm whether the user is self-serve or AppSumo before giving plan-specific advice.
TL;DR: The Pro trial is 14 days of Cleanlist Pro. A card is required ($0 due today). You get 250 credits (350 with a work email), 100 searches, 3 seats and 5 lists of 300 leads. Every Pro feature works except API keys; Agents and Sequences can be built but launch only on a paid plan. Credit top-ups aren't available. After 14 days the trial becomes Pro ($89 per seat per month) unless you start Starter or click Cancel trial, which ends it immediately and moves you to Free.
Pro free trial
New Cleanlist workspaces start on the Free plan and can try Pro free for 14 days. The trial is how you build Agents, Sequences and CRM sync before paying.
Starting the trial
- During signup: the last onboarding step, "Try Cleanlist Pro free for 14 days.", has Start free 14-day trial and Continue on Free. Choosing Continue on Free asks once, "Skip your free Pro trial?", with Keep my free trial and Skip, continue on Free.
- Later: if you skipped it, the offer stays open. Use the Try Pro free banner (then Start my Pro trial), or Start free 14-day trial on a plan-gated page.
- Card required. Checkout reads "$0 due today · Secured by Stripe · Cancel in two clicks". The 14 days start when your card is saved.
- A workspace admin starts the trial.
What you get
| Pro trial | |
|---|---|
| Length | 14 days |
| Credits | 250, or 350 if you signed up with a work email (company domain) |
| Searches (People and Companies, shared) | 100 in total |
| Seats | 3 |
| Lead lists | 5, up to 300 leads each |
| Features | Every Pro feature except API keys |
- The 50 credits from your Free signup are part of the 250, not on top of it.
- MCP (Connect to Claude), Clu in Slack, Knowledge, workspace connectors, HubSpot and Salesforce sync, Lookup in CRM and in-CRM enrichment all work during the trial.
- Clu is charged in credits during the trial, as on paid plans. See Credits and pricing.
- The Plans page shows your Trial credits meter, and a "Pro trial" bar shows the days left.
Build now, launch on a paid plan
You can create and save Agents, Sequences and LinkedIn steps during the trial, but turning them on needs a paid plan: "Agents and sequences go live once you are on Starter or Pro."
- Sequences launch on Starter or Pro. The Launch button tooltip reads "Choose a paid plan to launch this sequence".
- Agents launch on Pro. Turn on, Run now, Run a test and Test on 5 records open a "Start Pro to launch" dialog with Keep editing, Manage billing and View plans.
Your drafts stay saved when you upgrade.
Not included during the trial
- API keys (public REST API). Available on Pro and Enterprise.
- Credit top-ups. The app says "Credit top-ups aren't available during your trial. Pick a plan to keep enriching."
Start a paid plan early
During the trial, the plan cards on Settings → Plans & billing read Start Starter now and Start Pro now. Confirm in the "Start Pro today?" (or "Start Starter today?") dialog, which explains that your trial ends now and the plan starts on the card you added:
- The paid plan begins right away and its credits are added "On top of what's left of your trial credits".
- Choosing Starter lists the Pro features you'll lose ("These Pro features are not included on Starter:"), such as Agents, LinkedIn steps and CRM integrations.
When the trial ends
If you do nothing, the trial becomes Pro on day 14: monthly, at $89 per seat, one seat per member of your workspace ("Your trial becomes Pro"). Under Current plan, the Plans page shows the renewal price and date ("Then Pro at $89/mo from" your renewal date) next to the Cancel trial link. To pick Starter instead, use Start Starter now before the trial ends.
Cancel the trial
- Go to Settings → Plans & billing.
- Under Current plan, click Cancel trial.
- In "Cancel your trial?", click Cancel trial (or Keep trial to go back).
The trial ends right away, not at day 14. Your workspace moves to the Free plan and you are not charged ("Trial cancelled. You won't be charged."). Credits you already received stay in your balance, and the Free plan's limits apply. Cancelling in the billing portal works the same way.
Who can get a trial
- One trial per company domain every 30 days. If a colleague from the same company email domain started a trial in the last 30 days, a new signup gets an ordinary Free workspace. Personal email addresses are not grouped this way.
- No trial for disposable email addresses, for accounts that already received free credits, for additional workspaces you create, or for workspaces with an AppSumo license.
- Cleanlist may also withhold the trial when its abuse checks flag a signup.
Onboarding call bonus
Free workspaces with an open trial offer see Book onboarding, +500 credits. The 500 credits are added once the Cleanlist team confirms your booking.
