Email Templates

Email Templates let you define your cold outreach messaging so Cleanlist can generate personalized emails for each prospect at scale.

Templates are org-shared — create one template and every teammate can use it when running the cold_intro_email smart column.

Creating a Template

Navigate to Email Templates in the portal and click New Template. Fill in:

Using Templates with cold_intro_email

  1. Open a lead list with enriched contacts (Starter+ required)
  2. Add column → Smart Column → cold_intro_email
  3. Select the template to use
  4. Run the column — the AI generates a personalized email for each row using the template plus that contact's LinkedIn and company data

Cost: 3 credits per row.

Template Tips

  • Be specific in your value proposition — include numbers ("70% match rate") and specific outcomes
  • List real pain points — the AI uses these to personalize each email based on the prospect's role and company
  • Keep max length short — shorter cold emails tend to get higher response rates
  • Set a default template — your most-used template can be set as the default for quick access
